Rafael Nadal Visits Monks in Thailand [Video]

Ahead of the Thailand Open in Bangkok, top seed and tennis No. 1 Rafael Nadal spent some time this weekend with a group of Buddhist monks.

Nadal joined the monks in a special ceremony on a beach in the town of Hua Hin in the Prachuap Khiri Khan province where Nadal was vacationing.

Nadal is keeping busy before his first match on Thursday. He is also reportedly scheduled to take part in the King’s One Million Tree Planting Program in Hua Hin tomorrow and then meet with Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva in Bangkok on Wednesday.

Does anybody even know what does this ritual mean? I thought Nadal is not religious? Well, but he is superstitious so this may be for good luck LOL he looks right at home:)

Buddhist monks do not eat after noon and they should only eat what is offered to them and should accept any item without showing any pleasure or displeasure.
Buddhist monks go on a daily alms round early morning to collect food offerings from the laypeople. It is not about bringing good luck to the laypeople.
