Rafael Nadal spent Saturday visiting some of the many sights in Rio de Janeiro, and among the attractions was the famous Christ the Redeemer statue that sits at the peak of the Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro.

“It is one of the most spectacular things I have ever seen,” Nadal said. “It is very beautiful, the surrounding mountains, an amazing view. And the statue is fantastic. It is a great luck to be in Rio. It is always nice to visit new places and Rio was definitely one of the places I wanted to be.”

The World No. 1 will begin play on Tuesday in Rio against countryman Daniel Gimeno-Traver.

There are people on this forum who are religious and do care about the statue of Jesus Christ, and more importantly, Jesus himself and his teaching. Don’t you think that with this kind of statement you can, and you are, hurting and insulting these people? It’s your choice to be Pagan, but that doesn’t give you the right to disrespect other believers, regardless of their faith.

Hippy Chic Says:

Bad Knee Rules,im only sorry if i offended yourself or anybody else on the forum,it certainly was not my intention, indeed we are all entitled to believe whatever we choose to believe in,my apologies again.

Brazil is truly amazing country. Rafa, don’t forget to watch samba and Brazil dance fighting. They are great, too.
