Vera Zvonareva: I Love School!
It’s not often you hear of people loving to go to school and loving to study, but count Vera Zvonareva in that rare group.
During a presser at the WTA Championships, Zvonareva professed her love for learning. And good for her.
“I’m attending diplomatic academy at home, and I love studying,” she said. “That’s something that I always loved in my life. You know, even a kid, when I was going to school, I was happy about it. Most kids hate going to school. I used to love it. I always love learning. I don’t know. It doesn’t really matter what it is. Just anything new, I would love to learn and try.”
She was also asked about her love life, and predictably she wasn’t as forthcoming.
“I’m not planning on getting married any time soon, because I think I’m committed to tennis,” Vera said. “I don’t really like to talk about my personal life, because I think I’m quite a public person. Personal, it’s something that I want to leave to myself. It’s something that I really don’t want anyone to know. That’s why I don’t, you know, talk about it all the time. There is no reasons. I can talk to everyone about anything, about tennis, about my public things, but there are also times when I just want to go back home and I just want to be myself. I just want some privacy, and that’s it.”
Zvonareva lost her opening match yesterday and she’ll need to win today over Caroline Wozniacki to keep her Istanbul title hopes alive.
