Caroline Wozniacki: My Dad Is Still My Main Coach
According to Caroline Wozniacki, her dad remains her main coach. Speaking Monday at the WTA Championships in Istanbul, the Danish No. 1 talked more about her mysterious coaching situation.
“I’ll try something new,” she said. “But I will work with my dad. My dad is still the main coach. So I’ll just get some input from the outside.
“For now I think I’ll try maybe something in the offseason, but I don’t know how everything will work out. So for now, yeah, I cannot really say too much.”
Wozniacki had revealed just before the US Open that she had hired a mystery coach replacing her father, Piotr. But little information has come from Wozniacki on who this coach is, and from the sound of it maybe the search for that coach continues. Or, as she says, she just not willing to name names.
Wozniacki has been criticized for playing too defensive, and she’s still without a Grand Slam title with just one appearance in a major final.
