Spanish sporting stars Rafael Nadal and Iker Casillas joined forced yesterday in Madrid for a special “Charity Day” of events Friday at the Caja Mágica.

Among the highlights were exo matches involving Serena Williams, Andy Murray, Carlos Moyá, Sergio Llull, Thibaut Courtois, Dani Rovira and Cristina Pedroche.

Money raised went to the Rafael Nadal and Iker Casillas Foundations.

“I’m really thankful to everyone who made the effort to be here to support us,” Nadal said. “Hopefully everyone had a good time at this event, which in the end raised some money for Iker and my foundations, money that will help us to continue our work with children in need.”

All very worth while, but i keep coming back to the same issue, why oh why do we have to make such a big issue with all the back slapping and feet kissing when it comes to celebrities, sports personalities or otherwise promoting charities??

Giles Says:

Well done guys. Great entertainment for the crowd, lots of fun enjoyed by all and some cash for your foundations. Couldn’t be better!

Hippy Chic Says:

Although raising money isnt something i choose to make a big deal about,i would still say good for Rafa, however i will say funny that haters dont seem to be interested in anything positive that Rafa does, spilt water on his crotch, pictures with homesexual references,a sketch on a TV programme with him starting a car by peeing in the petrol tank etc etc, anything like that 300 comments or more, anything positive people dont want to know?just using the same double standard that people used with the Novak TV programme a few weeks ago, remember that one?
