Hippy Chick Says:

Amazing shot from young Charlton Heston there AKA Sir Andrew Murray….

Margot Says:

Darling Andy – tennis magician :)
Lol Hippy u think he looks like Charlton Heston do you……hmmmmm ;)

Margot Says:

On a more serious note, looks as if his back is at last OK.

RZ Says:

I’ll keep sleeping through the Asian swing matches and hopefully Andy will keep winning.

Margot Says:

@RZ
Thanx so much, am sure it’ll be the x factor that makes Andy keep on winning ;)

Hippy Chick Says:

Margot Lorraine Kelly said about the comparison,if you look at Charlton when he was younger there is certainly a likeness ;))….

jane Says:

nice shot. :)

the cilic match will be interesting; andy should beat him because he usually handles big servers well. he also has a good record over marin, with only 2 losses in 11 matches. cilic might have some confidence, though, after the us open title. but then again, he might be slowing down too.

certainly not easy quarterfinals for andy or nole, playing cilic and dimitrov respectively. hope i can watch!

looks like gulbis retired so rafa will face klizan in quarters.

Hippy Chick Says:

RZ Thanks for the link, nice picture of Andy with Sir Terry Wogan….

Hippy Chick Says:

Im not one whom bases the future on what happened in the past, also as soon as a player becomes a GS champion, the dynamics become somewhat different which is what Murray will be facing in Cilic,ie a player with a new found confidence….

Jack Lewis Says:

Murray looked like his back gave him some sharp pain at the end of that clip. Not a good sign.

jane Says:

yeah agree, hippy, i mentioned confidence too in my earlier post. BUT i think it’s hasty to discount match-ups and h2h altogether too. of course present form is a key factor in any match, but so is match-up and history. to me, both can be a factor. murray won last weekend so that could give him added belief, not to mention the incentive to gain points, reach the wtf’s, and get back to a ranking that suits him. that is why i am picking him for the win (but i won’t be shocked if marin comes through either.). having said that, what jack lewis said above is a bit worrisome… hopefully it was just a momentary thing.

Polo Says:

Not all majors winners develop newfound confidence. Case 1: Wawrinka.

jane Says:

^ good point polo. although stan did win monte carlo, and he did well at wimbledon too. :)

Okiegal Says:

@Chick…..had never thought of Andy favoring Charlton Heston….. you are so right! He was always a favorite actor of mine….but he hasn’t crossed my mind as of late, yeah, a striking resemblance!! Thanks for pointing that out, giving me another reason to be in Andy’s corner whenever I can! (after Rafa, of course) LOL!
