Here they come! Limping to the finish line…the physically battered, emotionally bruised, fragile survivors of the 2015 WTA season. This should be a really compelling tournament…Lets see who backs their way into this title..woof!

Just watched the Navarro match – she lost to Russian 18 yr. old, rising star, Daria Kasatkina. Poor Carla…don’t know what was wrong with her but she couldn’t get her game going.

Excited for this! Aga and Flavia are healthy and in form. Maybe enough time for rehab has passed to have the rest of them ready. Safarova has been very rusty her last two matches. Lucie will be in dubs, too.

Im shocked that Sharapovas playing,thought she was still injured,with Serena missing if shes fully fit she would be the favorite IMO….

I read that there is some controversy about the Luxembourg tournament this week as it didn’t count toward Singapore, but some of the players in contention for Singapore didn’t know about that until it was too late to switch tournaments.

Jane i know this wasnt what you were doing,but IMO Bartollis always been a gorgeous looking woman,whatever her size,too many people get pulled to pieces or pull other people to pieces,and all because of the way they look,unfortunatly its the world we live in….

i am concerned about her health, gypsy, not her looks! her drop in weight has been drastic.

Well, Marion? Many questions about the change but not sure what to say about Marion’s transformation right now. As long as she’s happy – we’ll see over time. I’m still a Bartoli fan.

RZ – thanks for that link. This is the first fall that I’ve followed WTA closer than ATP and gotta say…it was confusing for me trying to follow qualifying points for RTS, but had no idea how confusing it was for the players themselves!

Gypsy and Jane – OMG… she looks absolutely emaciated. I always liked the fact she had a normal woman’s body… I never considered her to be the type of girl to want to be stick skinny like the “trendy masses”…. I hope she’s not sick…

Wow, is that the same one who won Wimby and then retired?? That can’t be her….She doesn’t look like herself. She looked better with a little meat on her bones….like me! Lol I will guarantee you she’s running. My niece is running and she’s looking anorexic…rather gaunt in the face. Her neck looks like giraffe….is this healthy???

My niece’s face still looks the same but Marian doesn’t even like herself in the face…….weird. When people start running it gets addictive and they just run continually…..I don’t know if she’s running or taking meth….that will take the weight off in a hurry. I don’t think she would do that…but wow, just wow!! She looks awful! Much more attractve a little heavier, me thinks!

Okie/Pamela as a woman whos 5 foot 3,im small and quite podgy looking,i take medication so i suppose that has alot to do with it,i run around after 27 old people and do Tai Chi,i guess some of us are not made to be thin,but indeed poor Marion doesnt even look like herself anymore….

jalep, i am still her fan too of course. her weight change doesnt change that! it’s just that this happened so quickly and is so drastic. she looked like herself at wimbledon this year, but USO she was definitely thinner, but she looked beautiful in pictures with serena there, very fit and healthy. to me, this recent change is one step too far.

hi okie, nice to read you. i don’t know if she’s running, but she posts pictures on her instagram account of herself doing calisthenics, and she’s mentioned yoga. i believe she’s glutten free now too.

i am all for getting fit, losing weight, etc. as long as she doesnt take it any further – the weight loss part i mean.

people can get addicted to it, and marion has had issues in the past with weight, food, control, diet, her dad, etc… i remember her dad used to make her eat a diet high in fat. maybe now that she has control of her life, she’s going to the other extreme. who knows!

i just hope she’s okay and that’s all.

Sorry jane. I didn’t mean you did anything wrong! Was just saying I’m going to wait and see. Marion’s weight fluctuated so much over her career and there are pictures I remember of her about a year ago when she was quite big; bigger than she’d been in her career. Which is fine, if she’s happy – she’s certainly beautiful in all pictures, imo.

Just don’t know or remember exactly how rapid the weight loss was. In the shorts picture she looks like she’s at a distance runner’s body weight and she’s got a small frame – (been like that most my life). Not sure what I see in the other picture – it doesn’t look right to me …that’s why I said I just want to wait and see. I hope she writes a book someday – there’s an interesting, informative story.

She has a ways to go before she looks as skeletal as Anna Kournakova lately. Hope she’s not going there.

Carole Bouchard — Through you and mat4, I know who she is, jane, thanks.

In the picture of her at Dubai Hyatt it’s hard to tell but she could be dangerously thin. Looked at the picture of her in the shorts a few times and thought she looked like she could run a marathon — very thin but that’s the idea. Distance runners can look scary. The shorts picture is not scary to me, I guess. It’s possible she’s got her body to shape she’s never been before and wants to take it out for a spin the tour. She beaming.
