The final four spots in the upcoming Singapore WTA Finals field was set yesterday. The 8-women round-robin event – a carbon copy of the men’s year-ender – was rounded out by Eugenie Bouchard, Ana Ivanovic, Agnieszka Radwanska and Caroline Wozniacki.

The event runs at the Singapore Sports Hub from October 17-26, 2014. The official singles draw ceremony for the WTA Finals will be held on Saturday, October 18, at 5:00pm, local time in Singapore.

World No. 1 and US Open champion Serena Williams will be the big favorite. The 33-year-old has won four WTA Finals titles, the rest of the seven women have combined to win just two!

The Final Eight:
Serena Williams – The 4-time champion has won in her last 3 appearances including 2012, 2013
Maria Sharapova – Won her lone Finals title in her 2004 debut
Petra Kvitova – Beat Azarenka to win the 2011 WTA Finals title
Simona Halep – 23-year-old makes her debut
Eugenie Bouchard – Third Canadian woman to ever play in the event
Ana Ivanovic – Third over appearance for the former No. 1, first since 2008
Agnieszka Radwanska – Qualifies for a sixth time, has never made the finals
Caroline Wozniacki – Made the finals in 2010

That’s a good line-up. Hopefully none of the player will be worn out by the end of the season so that the matches will be competitive.
