Bernard Tomic just can’t stop making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Yesterday in the first round of Madrid, the “Tank Engine” was losing to Fabio Fognini who held three match points at 62, 54, 40-0 when Tomic decided to return, or try to return, the Italian’s serve using the handle end of the racquet!

See for yourself!

Is a fine coming?

The 22nd-ranked Tomic is 14-11 this season but since reaching the finals of Acapulco a few months ago, the 23-year-old Australian has lost six of his last eight matches including four straight.

MMT Says:

9 years ago, when Davydenko was embroiled in an investigation in to match-fixing allegations at a 125 in Poland, he was playing Marin Cilic in St. Petersburg, in the last week in October and double-faulted to get broken in the 3rd set. The umpire, Jean-Phillipe Dercq, chose that moment to issue a code violation warning for lack of effort, and Davydenko was fined $2,000. I suspect that was payback for their lack of evidence against him.

If this idiotic rule is still in place there is no doubt that Tomic should be fined. But if they don’t, they should get rid of the rule altogether.

Wog Boy Says:

He didn’t even hide his disrespect for the game, fans and oponent, he should be definitely fined for such disrespectful behavior. The jockeys are find for pulling the horse and not giving them chance to produce their best, it is like match fixing nothing short of that. He proved once more what mental case he is!

Wog Boy Says:

^^ “fined” not “find”

madmax Says:

Tomic – he is just a spoilt, jumped up, little rich kid. Full of his own ‘non’ importance. Has a lot of growing up to do.

It was more interesting looking at Fognini’s pot belly. Where did that come from?
