Over 6,000 Fans Watched Roger Federer Practice [Video]

Roger Federer is making his return at the Hopman Cup this weekend, and to prepare he held an open practice. And to no one’s surprise, the fans in Perth flocked to see Federer who hasn’t visited the city in 16 years.

“I really just liked being here,” said Federer who last played the Hopman Cup in 2002 with future wife Mirka. “I came from the junior world championships here to Perth so this is my fourth trip (here) I guess.”

Federer and his Swiss team, which includes Belinda Bencic, begin play Monday night in Perth against Great Britain. Richard Gasquet, Nick Kyrgios, Jack Sock, Alexander Zverev, Heather Watson, Daria Gavrilova and Andrea Petkovic are among the other top names playing the exo event.
