After his win today over Andrey Rublev in Beijing, Alexander Zverev become the third player to qualify for the ATP Finals in London next month, joining Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.

“I think it’s great for any player to qualify for a prestigious event that we have in London,” said Zverev. “It’s really an award for, I think, every player that shows that you’ve been one of the best players, not only for one or two weeks in a year, but you’ve been one of the best players for the whole year. That’s something special. That’s an amazing achievement for me, and I think for all the other guys, as well.”

The 20-year-old Zverev is currently ranked No. 4 and No. 3 in the ATP Race. He’s 51-16 on the year with 5 titles. He also leads in the Under 22 Race to Milan, however he’s not expected to play.

Tomorrow in Beijing, Zverev meets Nick Kyrgios in the semifinals.

The Masters Finals will be held November 12-19 at the O2 in London.

Humble Rafa Says:

Most useless tournament in the world. I can win it and Skeeze will be impressed (by how many of these the Arrogant One has won). No one else cares.

Wog Boy Says:

Rafa is winning WTF this year, none of these players can stop him.
Year end #1 player will be decided before WTF, it’ll be Rafa.

AndyMira Says:

@WB….Ohh!!….It’s a nice predictions WB!…Thank u!!..It’ll be amazing if it happen!

Willow Says:

AndyMira me too, would love him to win one of the titles hes never won before ;-)

chrisford1 Says:

Humble is being humble. We all know that the Year End Championships that pit the 8 best players that year against one another has never seen Our Humble One win. A couple times, despite indoors matches somehow being for Rafa what clay was for Sampras – he played great and made it to the finals. Only to be foiled again at the end by Novak or Roger (despite Rafa mostly owning Roger in their H2H outdoors).
It’s the last big trophy Nadal has never won. It would be Huuuuuge ! for him.
No Novak Djokovic to bedevil him this time in London.

Willow Says:

Well us fans choose to hope he has a chance if thats alright, with or without Novak, so no need for the sly dig ….

Willow Says:

Novak was beaten in the final by Andy last year ….

Meanwhile Mannarino seems to be on his way to beating Cilic, after being a set down, didnt see that one coming ….

Willow Says:

Mannarino bagels Cilic, congrats to him ….

AndyMira Says:

Hey Willow!…Yeah!..It will be amazing if he can do that…But,before it happen..there’s a multiple of big tourneys that he had to go through…We’ll see what happen in a couple of months..Hope he can do it this time Will, insyaallah!…Vamos Rafa!!

Willow Says:

AndyMira true, but it gets irritating when people think the only way Rafa can win titles is because Novaks missing or Novaks not at his best, when in fact Rafa is more than capable of beating Novak on his own merits ….

AndyMira Says:

Oh!..That’s alright Will!…Don’t let people’s opinion get to u k?Sometimes they just said that just to test us…The key is…be patient..besides,what important is Rafa…and he’s soooo dang good atm!…Let’s enjoy that Will!…It’s not going to last long!

Willow Says:

AndyMira right on sister ;-)
