Alexander Zverev Becomes Third Player To Qualify For ATP Finals
After his win today over Andrey Rublev in Beijing, Alexander Zverev become the third player to qualify for the ATP Finals in London next month, joining Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
“I think it’s great for any player to qualify for a prestigious event that we have in London,” said Zverev. “It’s really an award for, I think, every player that shows that you’ve been one of the best players, not only for one or two weeks in a year, but you’ve been one of the best players for the whole year. That’s something special. That’s an amazing achievement for me, and I think for all the other guys, as well.”
The 20-year-old Zverev is currently ranked No. 4 and No. 3 in the ATP Race. He’s 51-16 on the year with 5 titles. He also leads in the Under 22 Race to Milan, however he’s not expected to play.
Tomorrow in Beijing, Zverev meets Nick Kyrgios in the semifinals.
