Fresh off a fourth Newport crown, John Isner returns to the hard courts looking for a sixth title in Atlanta this upcoming week.

The American big man will face a tough test in his opener. Following a bye he’ll either face the man who he beat in the Newport final, Alexander Bublik, or a fellow giant in Reilly Opelka.

Seeded second is Taylor Fritz who could meet the 53rd-ranked Grigor Dimitrov in the second round. Third seed Alex De Minaur, No. 4 is Pierre Hugues Herbert while Frances Tiafoe took the fifth seeding. Tiafoe has lost six of his last seven but opens against Bernard Tomic.

Former Top 10 Jack Sock also returns to tennis for the first time since Australia following thumb surgery from a snowboarding accident. The 26-year-old Sock opens against Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia.

Last year, Isner won his second straight Atlanta title beating Ryan Harrison.
