World No. 2 Simona Halep revealed today that she tested positive for COVID-19.

She posted on twitter, “Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know that I tested positive for COVID-19. I am self-isolating at home and am recovering well from mild symptoms. I feel good… we will get through this together πŸ€—πŸ’ͺ”

Halep began the restart concerned about the virus so much so that she skipped the US Open.

She had won 17 straight matches (13 in the restart) before her stunning loss to Iga Swiatek in the French Open quarterfinals.

Halep 2020 season is over anyway, unless she opts to participate in Linz next month.
