Iga Swiatek continued on her run improving her win streak to 25 Thursday at the Rome Masters upended former finalist Victoria Azarenka 6-4, 6-1.

It was a close 30 minutes or so before the defending champion pulled away from a double break down in the first set.

“I didn’t start well, and everybody could see that,” Swiatek said. “I’m really happy with the way I reacted and how I improved in the first set. Also how different the second set looked to the first one because I could really reset and really change the way I played. That’s the most positive thing for me.”

Former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu will be next for the World No. 1. Andreescu won in straights over former French quarterfinalist Petra Martic 6-4, 6-4.

Aryna Sabalenka collected a solid win over Jessica Pegula 6-4, 6-1. She’ll face another American in Amanda Anisimova who wiped out countrywoman Danielle Collins 6-2, 6-2. Anismova is 4-0 against the Belarussian.

Daria Kasatkina scored the upset of the day taking out Paula Badosa 6-4, 6-4. Badosa will now meet Jil Teichmann tomorrow.

And Maria Sakkari advanced over Coco Gauff. Madrid champ Ons Jabeur is next.
