For the first time Wimbledon is allowing players to practice on Centre Court ahead of the opening day Monday.

And two former champions — rivals and favorites Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal — took advantage of the new Wimbledon policy.

Nadal shook off any foot issues and concerns returning to Centre Court for the first time since 2019. With a shot at the Calendar Slam still in the picture, the 2-time champion let it rip with 2021 finalist Matteo Berrettini.

Djokovic was out there with another finalist, Marin Cilic.

Djokovic and Nadal will be the Top 2 seeds when the draw is made Friday morning in London. Djokovic is expected to play on Monday while Nadal will open his Wimbledon campaign on Tuesday.

John Says:

I think Novak is a fantastic player and he is w/o a doubt one of the greatest ever to pick-up a tennis racquet but he is not RAFA!!! Nadal is a beast and I pray that he continues to play as long as his body holds out.He is one of the reasons that tennis is the great sport it is.
