Carlos Alcaraz, Cameron Norrie Withdraw From Acapuclo
Having finished Rio under an injury cloud, Carlos Alcaraz withdrew from Acapulco due to his right hamstring.
The teen lost in a tough final Sunday to Cameron Norrie who also pulled out of the event.
“Unfortunately I won’t be able to play in @AbiertoTelcel. I have a grade 1 strain in my right hamstring that will keep me out for several days, according to the tests we did this morning. I’m really sad I can’t compete here, but now it’s time to think about recovering and being ready as soon as possible. I hope to see you all soon!” Alcaraz tweeted.
Just 19, Alcaraz has already had a slew of injuries. An ab issue kept him out of the ATP Finals. And a right leg problem prevented him from travelling to Australia.
Norrie, a finalist a year ago, did not cite an injury.
Both are expected for Indian Wells next month.
