Boulter Beats Burrage In All-British Final To Win Nottingham
Katie Boulter took home top prize at the Nottingham Open this week defeating Jodie Burrage 6-3, 6-3 to claim her first career title.
With both players in their first final, Boulter broke early and often to build big leads in each of the sets to pace the biggest win of her career.
“I dreamt of this moment at this tournament since I was a little girl,” Boulter told the WTA. “There was training here when I was four or five years old, coming here as a fan and also now as a player, dreaming big and somehow found a way to win it today. It means more than everything to me.”
The 126th-ranked Boulter will now move back into the Top 100, and pass the injured Emma Raducanu as the highest ranked British woman. She also becomes the first British woman to win a title since Raducanu at the US Open.
