Struggling Holger Rune Adds Boris Becker To Coaching Team

Hoping to stop his current downward spiral, Holger Rune has added German great Boris Becker to his coaching team.

After losing in the first round in his Stockholm title defense, Rune has now lost eight of his last nine matches. He has just one single match win since Wimbledon.

“I felt myself and my game more today than I did in a while, so I feel confident now in making the last adjustments and finish the year strong 🦾” he wrote on Instagram following his loss to Miomir Kecmanovic. “Thank you @sthlmopen for always being awesome 🤩”

Ahead, the 20-year-old Rune has a Basel final and Paris title points coming off the rankings. Rune is still ranked 8th in the Race so he is still in position to make Turin.

Becker, who served time in jail, previously coached Novak Djokovic.

Rune was coached for a long time by Lars Christensen. He also has been helped by Patrick Mouratoglou as well as his father.
