Roger Federer: “I Hope I’m Peaking Here at Wimbledon” [Video]
Swiss tennis great Roger Federer stopped by the ESPN studio on Tuesday following his three-set win over Mikhail Kukushkin.
During the interview, Federer said last year he struggled from Australia through Madrid because of lack of match play, and that affected his play at the French Open and at the 2010 Wimbledon where he nearly lost in the first round to Alejandro Falla.
Federer adds that having coach Paul Annacone will help later in the week.
And new ESPN analyst Chris Evert jokingly revealed that when it comes to Federer that she’s almost a “borderline stalker”.
If he can win Wimbledon, Federer will tie Pete Sampras with seven career titles on the famed grass courts.
In the second round on Thursday Federer will play the 55th-ranked Adrian Mannarino of France.
