wish I could say more about Rog’s match, but they didn’t play much of it on ESPN!
Haha, just noticed a funny line I didn’t notice on tv, when chrissy is talking about how she cried after his losses and roger says “oh, you’re more emotional than me? Not possible”
Good guy he can make fun of himself, too!
I hope I’m looking at the 2011 Wimbledon champ right there!

ROG! You’re making me laugh again!(ROFL) I think he said something like this previously, too! I really don’t think that, he did that well at the French as everyone were speaking. Remember he got beaten many times on clay, before the French. And he had to go home to regroup. And he did had an easy draw as the French. And you fanboys could argue that, he took out Djokovic. Well, Novak was having all these wins this year. He gotta have his bad days ya know???? And Novak beat Federer like 3 times this year!!! And Federer choked many times at the Slams these couple of year! He was leading Del Potro at the 2009 US final. Ended up losing the title to Del Potro. And he choked at the US Open semi against Novak last year. And he choked with a 5-2 lead against Nadal at the French final few weeks ago. And he also choked in other matches as well, despite those matches were not being played the in Slams. And he was beaten by Hewitt on grass last year. And he also by Berdych at Wimbledon last year. I really don’t think that, he is as supreme on grass like he once did. Especially after Nadal knocked him off the king of grass title in 2008.

Rick, may I just point out Rafa has beaten Roger once on grass. Roger’s actually beaten Rafa more times on clay, so let’s be fair. 2008 was not a good year for Roger, as I’m sure you know he had mono and that affected him especially at the beginning of the year so he wasn’t practiced for Wimbledon.
last year, yes, that was poor, but if he says he was a bit injured from Halle and his confidence was knocked from Falla, i’ll believe it because it seems fair and he’s always been very honest.

So… if Rafa’s the new ‘king of grass’, did that make Roger the new ‘King of clay’ in 09?
btw, Roger had a more difficult draw than Rafa and Murray in the French this year. I wouldn’t say Roger’s draw was particularly hard until the semis, but neither were any of the top 4- well, maybe Novak v Delpo could have been a tricky one.

He WAS great at the French and I agree he did choke in the final, but to be fair- why did Rafa NEED to take a medical timeout to remove some strapping as Roger served for the set? He does that kind of thing a lot and it’s not very good sportsmanship.

Lol, I’m not being a fangirl here, I’m just making a few valid points. There are losses from Roger I won’t defend, but I think there are other factors to consider for Wimbledon.
I guess we’ll have to see how it goes, because making predictions from R1 matches is madness.

Anyway, nonsense aside- I very much hope Roger wins Wimbledon this year, I think he has an excellent chance.

Rick my man, I got your back but this blog is only for herpies who think that FED is a holy cow. If you are not a FED worshipper they will eat you alive. Federer can still do it. He has the game, talent and variety to emerge successful even at his age. What he needs is belief that he can do it. Like any other Federer fan, I would want Federer to win his Seventh Wimbledon title equalling Sampras. What a record that would be in a year where Nadal equalled Borg’s record of six French Open titles ? The two legends of Tennis creating records in succession will remain unmatched in this Sport for ever. Infact Tennis is blessed with such Legends like Federer and Nadal dominating the Sport. Though I am a Federer fan, I am not opposed to Nadal. I like his determination, will and the urge to win every single point in a match which is a quality unparalleled. If not Federer, I would like Djokovic or Murray to win the Title. I think Nadal has the age to win another day, but not this time which I hope. More than a Champion what i love about Federer is that he is a fine human being with flair for charity through his Foundation. He is our Sports best Ambassador.

That’s NOT what federer said. If you listened more carefully you would hear and READ that he ‘hopes’ to peak at wimbledon, just like EVERY other player on tour. Murray has said it, Novak has said it, Rafa has underplayed it – again.

Kukushkin played well and I think he now goes to a top 50 place if his performance was anything to go by.

This is what they all play for. Why is that so difficult to understand?
