Davydenko Baking Bagels at ATP Poertschach

Top-seeded Nikolay Davydenko baked a bagel against Czech Tomas Zib 6-3, 6-0, while No. 4 seed Dmitry Tursunov was sent home by Argentine qualifier Juan Monaco 7-6(4), 6-2 in opening-round play Tuesday at the ATP claycourt stop in Poertschach.

Other seeded winners Tuesday were (7) Luis Horna (d. Moodie) and (8) Gilles Simon (d. (Q) T.Popp).

Unseeded winners into the second round were Italian Andreas Seppi (d. Dlouhy), Austrian Oliver Marach (d. Spadea), Luxembourg's Gilles Muller (d. (Q) Azzaro), and Spain's (Q) Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo (d. N.Lapentti from a set down).
