Wimbledon — Last Minute Previews
I know I’m a little bit late with my previews, and it’s been a while since I posted here, but I’ve been reporting for TennisReporters.net and TennisInfo.be last week from the Ordina Open in Rosmalen, where numerous rain delays almost pushed back the finals to Sunday. For an exclusive interview with Jelena Jankovic, head over […]

Why Andy Roddick Can Win Wimbledon This Year
Okay. I really want to post such an entry – that Andy Roddick will win Wimbledon this year – but I cannot bring myself around to write it. Not after the draw matched Andy against Roger Federer in the semifinals.

Wimbledon Mens Preview: Federer-Nadal Again?
The Wimbledon Committee is known for being the only tournament in pro tennis with the cajones to go against the ATP Rankings when they devise their seedings. Many years their re-jiggering of the seedings brings the ire of media and fans — but where is the re-jiggering when it’s actually needed? This year the Wimbledon […]

June 19th, 2007
(Editor’s note: the following is from an interview of Richard Vach for the Stiles Points website regarding the upcoming Wimbledon event.) Q: Now that the clay court season is over, Rafael Nadal has to play the next two majors on surfaces (grass & hard court) that favor Roger Federer. What has Nadal done over the […]

Mark Philippoussis Tries to Score on Age of Love
What I remember the most about the telecast was the commercials, specifically the one previewing NBC’s new dating show, “Age of Love”, which features Mark Philippoussis trying to decide between a bunch of 20-year-old and 40-year-old “women” on TV for the world to see.

Nadal Whacks Federer in French Final
Roger Federer will have to wait another year to claim a French Open title, and the way it looks it he will probably have to wait a lot longer than that.

Nikolay Davydenko, Leader of the ‘Almost Elite’
When I wrote my French Open previews two weeks ago and predicted a semifinal run for Nikolay Davydenko, I didn’t think too long about his possible match against Roger Federer. I mean, what was there to think about? There was no way the Russian, trailing 8-0 head-to-head against the Swiss No.1, would be a real […]

Henin, Sharapova Face Serbian Challenge at French Open
Time for a little pre-work update on the tennis from Roland Garros. Today’s two women’s semis are a toss up. Both Henin and Sharapova are the slight favorites, but their Serbian opponents, Jelena Jankovic and Ana Ivanovic, can each steal a win.

French Open Women: 5 Questions
5 Questions: 1) What happened to the Williams sisters, American’s lone hope at the French Open? Venus Williams blamed her loss on fatigue due to over-training, which jibes with people from her camp who say it is an effort to get her off the practice court. As she gets older she is going to need […]

Favorites Nadal, Henin Head French Quarters
What an uninteresting Sweet 16 at the French Open the last two days. Aside from the Maria Sharapova-Patty Schnyder debacle the matches weren’t exactly memorable. In fact, I can barely remember them now. But heck, at least the favorites made it through setting up some pretty tasty quarterfinal matches. Let’s start with the women. The […]
