Lung Infection Not Contagious, Federer at Dubai Player Party

by Tom Gainey

Roger Federer lung infection may keep him off the tennis circuit but not the party circuit. With video evidence below, Federer appeared briefly at the Dubai player party at the Aviation Club last night looking rather well and fashionable.

Novak Djokovic (and girlfriend Jelena Ristic), Marin Cilic (plus little brother), Mikhail Youzhny, Tommy Robredo, Nikolay Davydenko and Andy Murray were just a few of the other tennis stars in attendance. Cricketer Ian Bell was also among the party goers plus the ever-present falcon.

I think the very fact that Federer went can’t be a bad sign can it?

15 Comments for Lung Infection Not Contagious, Federer at Dubai Player Party

Ben Pronin Says:

I like Roger’s hair short.

If it’s not contagious, how did he catch it in Ethiopia? Did he drink some contaminated water?

Voicemale1 Says:

It’s an opportune time for Federer to be sidelined as far as his points to defend are concerned. He didn’t do all that well at IW or Miami, and ditto MC and Rome. Given Nadal & Djokovic still have a lot to defend all the way through Madrid, and with Murray still suspect to make much of an impact through the clay season, Federer is sitting very pretty. He can take off as much time as he wants without a real threat of anyone ganing much on him. Which is exactly what he’ll need to defend at The French & Wimbledon - some R&R. This couldn’t have worked out better for him.

Kimmi Says:

Love the hair too ben. Nice to see him in the party..bring IW and Miami

Michael Says:

Hope to see you very soon Federer. Get well. Tennis needs you badly.

madmax Says:

Well Ben, I think Federer had to be seen at the party to thank the delegates and meet with royalty there, after all, doesnt he live nearby and train nearby? It was said that after the hand shakes and usual pleasantries, he left after 15 minutes, to pay his respects and then to fly out of dubai back home to see doctors for some blood tests.

I love Federer’s hair long - with pony tail. I like the grungy look Ben. short is cool too, but the messed up look - i like also.

contador Says:

droool, droool…..federer does look good. love that sweater he is wearing. lung infection, shmlung infection. he’ll not make the same mistakes ( uh, imo ‘mistakes’) he made in 2008 w/ the mono. he’ll be back on tour when his doctors and most importantly his own body, gives him the “green light.”

i don’t know, i like roger in black suits or grunge, short hair or long, you know, a variety. i’d like to dress him up, lol..that lucky ana wintour!

cheers.

Sean Randall Says:

Nice turn out for the party. I guess Federer lives there so why wouldn’t he go?

Emet74 Says:

After 48 hours on antibiotics you are normally not contagious; doesn’t mean he wasn’t contagious when he first got sick.

Madmax, what’s your source for the info about the blood tests?

Marty Says:

Cheap shot against Federer, but what else is new. He came to pay his respects like the class act tha he is.

madmax Says:

Emet,

federer said it in his interview. go and read it.

Marty, he is a class act. absolutely. He knows the royal family in dubai, so paying his respects in the gentlemanly thing to do.

madmax Says:

Emet, I’ll try get the link for you if I have some time tonight - but there are plenty of interviews given (gototennis.com), where he mentions this.

sar Says:

Could appearance money have had anything to do with his being there?

Nina Says:

Oh Nole looks delicious in this video (Jelena too). Such a nice couple!
Hope Roger gets his health back soon, he looks good with shorter hair, no doubt.

dwiya Says:

roger looks fabulous n the new haircut.then again he looks good in everything.

Emet74 Says:

Haven’t seen any interview mentioning getting blood tests in Switzerland, but if you have a link let me know.
