Eugenie Bouchard Will Honor Her Super Bowl Bet And Take A Twitter Follower On A Date!

One of the tennis connections to the Super Bowl last week was Eugenie Bouchard’s bet with a random twitter follower to go on a date with him if the New England Patriots came back from a 28-3 deficit to the Atlanta Falcons.

At the time it looked like a cinch for the Canadian tennis star. But the Patriots roared back scoring 31 unanswered points en route to an incredible 31-28 overtime win. And Bouchard?

“I couldn’t believe it could actually happen,” Bouchard said during a phone-in interview with TSN. “I was in complete shock.
“I tempted fate a little too much,” she added. “This is my punishment.”
Asked about regrets making the bet, she said, “none at all. It’s going to be fun!”

The guy on the other end of this twitter bet is Chicago native and University of Missouri student John Goehrke. And Bouchard says she will honor the bet and fly Goehrke out to a tennis event in the near future, possibly Miami next month.
“I might have to fly him out to one of my tournaments,” Bouchard said. “I have to check when his spring break is so he doesn’t miss school.
“But he has to be the gentlemen and organize a fun date night.”
Goehrke, a 20-year-old marketing major and a Tom Brady fan, was stunned both of the comeback and Bouchard agreeing to the date!
“I’ve been a big fan of hers for a couple of years now and I was going through Twitter and it was only the second quarter when I saw her tweet,” Goehrke told the Kansas City Star. “I just thought to myself it’s not over. That idea kind of just popped in my head, so I went through with it.
“I thought maybe there was a chance she would respond, but I thought there was no chance she’d actually agree to it.”
What a lucky guy!
