On an off day yesterday at the Sony Ericsson Open Miami, tennis heartthrob Fernando Verdasco hit the Biscayne Bay waters for some stand-up paddle boarding instruction.

Verdasco plays his first match in Miami later today against Bjorn Phau. The 20th-ranked Spaniard was a finalist last month in Acapuclo before losing in the third round at Indian Wells to Juan Martin Del Potro.

shame really as people seem more interested in nandos for his looks, rather than his talent as a tennis player these days, after that fabulous semi at the ao in 2009,where he almost and should have took out his good friend rafa,i thought he would go on to be a contender for the majors, but sadly he never lived up to that potential.

jane Says:

He had a good win today; maybe he is coming back into some form?

alison hodge Says:

jane Says:

He played a great second set versus Delpo last week and got to the finals in Mexico, so you never know??

alison hodge Says:
