A day after her fourth career US Open title, Serena Williams made the media rounds in New York on Monday. With summer wins at Wimbledon and the Olympic gold in addition to her 15th Grand Slam crown Sunday, Serena had plenty to talk about.

Serena visited CBS This Morning where she discussed Victoria Azarenka’s grunting among other topics.

“Usually I do hear her grunting,” Serena said. “In this particiular match, I didn’t hear anything. During the match, I was thinking ‘She’s pretty low today.'”

On the topic of the match, Serena told the hosts that she was just too confident in the third.

“I was so confident, I was almost over confident. In the third set I was down, I thought ‘Good lord, what am I doing out here?’ I thought, ‘Man, say something really nice [in my runners-up speech],'” Serena said.

Later, she visited the Jimmy Fallon Show for some fun and karaoke and she also was a guest on the Kelly and Michael Show.

Alok Says:

Great for serena and her enjoyment of the NYC spotlight. She missed it three times due to her implosion but her behavior was exemplary in this final. She even applauded Azarenka’s shot making, but that was most probably for the crowd than vika.

I wonder if that line judge was testing her when he called a foot fault. If looks could kill, he’d be dead and buried already. I think he sensed it, because he was sheepishly smiling.

Brando Says:

serena deserves ALL the plaudits coming her way after such a win.

You could say what you want about her personality (personally i find it strange how anyone can judge someone when they HAVE NEVER met or know them at all, strange no?), BUT you cannot deny the sheer fact that when her game is on- she is the CLEAR NO.1 in women’s tennis!

She’s a special champion- moreso after going through her tough, testing illness!

Well done serena!
