Sick Petra Kvitova Has Withdrawn From Eastbourne
Petra Kvitova will go into her Wimbledon title defense next week without any grass court preparation. The 2-time Wimbledon champion announced today that she has pulled out of the Eastbourne grass tune-up due to a viral illness.
“I have a sore throat. I have to stay in bed, drink tea and rest,” she said. “I didn’t feel well when I came here last Thursday, I had to make this decision.
“I hope to be fine for Wimbledon. I’ll stay here in Eastbourne and then slowly move to London.”
So sorry to have to pull out of one of my favourite tournaments with a viral illness but I need to put my health first right now.
