The weather has been an issue at the French Open. The tournament began with heavy rains washing out much of the schedule Sunday and Monday. Today the rain finally went away but it didn’t take the cool temperatures with it.

“I’m not a cold-weather person,” said Serena afterwards. “It’s been really tough. By the time I got out there, it was just really cold. I don’t like playing in cold weather. But everything felt pretty good, so it was okay.”

With the thermometer in the 50s, so much for springtime in Paris.

Serena easily made it through the tough conditions with a quick 42-minute 62, 60 victory. If the win didn’t warm her up, Victoria Azarenka’s exit should help!

Serena returns Thursday to take on Brazilian Teliana Pereira.
