Margot Says:

Naughty Nick gave Deliciano a bit of a drubbing. Looked casual as usual, but fast, strong and very good at the net.
Major strapping on one leg tho., a bit early in the season for that, surely?

J-Kath Says:

Re: Andy Murray’s knighthood: I already pasted this elsewhere – but putting it here for Margot et al…

Miranda Hart thought the honour was “brilliant”, offering her own comedic take on the gong: “Do we have to curtsy? Because I am known to fart on rising up from a curtsy.”

Willow Says:

J-Kath love Miranda, and her TV comedy series, reminded me of this https://youtu.be/UTf17cmPl0I ,enjoy ;-)

Margot Says:

And Spain beats Australia. Not too surprised because it came down to the doubles and Lopez is one of the best doubles player in the tournament. Gavrilova was so inconsistent in the singles and then, in the doubles, she was wild- not only poaching but hitting way out all the time.
Sorry gals, don’t like Miranda.

jalep Says:

Hello Margot! just woke up and haven’t checked scores yet.

There is no way for me to watch Hopman Cup… Oh I love it when that bad boy plays great tennis! Yeah, I don’t like strapping on a leg this close to AO.

Tennis Channel is on vacation…showing reruns until Wednesday …I nearly renewed with tennistv.

jalep Says:

Who is Miranda?

jalep Says:

Never mind about Miranda…I get it — not on my side of the pond.

Very happy you were keen to start brackets again, Margot. Thanks :)

J-Kath Says:

Jalep:

Miranda is a lanky, very funny comedian in the UK. She makes you laugh just to watch her expressions – apologies – thought she might be known outside of the UK.

J-Kath Says:

Great Wilma…enjoyed your Utube paste.

J-Kath Says:

Oh Lordie – I meant Willow

Willow Says:

Cheers J-Kath ;-) ….

Margot shes not everyones cup of tea i suppose ….

Jalep doesnt sound like she ever made much impact in your part of the world ….

HAPPY NEW YEAR LADIES ;-) ….

Margot Says:

Willow next time why don’t you have a go at Jalep’s bracket? The tournaments are small so there aren’t too many entrants so it’s quite quick to fill them in, not like the slams. It also makes you notice how players are doing and which are on the rise.
If you’re interested in tennis generally, it’s fun.

Margot Says:

In fact Willow, you could still enter Doha and Chennai.

Willow Says:

Margot ive tried and tried with these challenges, but for whatever reason it just wont accept my password or e.maiul address for whatever reason (scratches head ) ….

J-Kath Says:

I don’t like the formality of entering. I have experienced a lot of difficulty in accessing this challenge (and other sites) and have even been notified saying “Are you cherypinkperson” on more than one occasion. It certainly makes one hesitate.

Margot Says:

That’s quite weird, Willow. I just signed in and off I went. I now see that a couple of others have joined as well.
Shame.Could you contact the site? Perhaps jalep has an email address.

lakie Says:

willow, I think you haven’t registered on that site. You must first register before you can sign in.

jalep Says:

Willow…”these challenges” or this one?
http://www.tennisdrawchallenge.com/

Here’s the “about” the challenge page … maybe you read it already?
http://www.tennisdrawchallenge.com/about

It says you need JavaScript enabled to make picks on the bracket page. Please email me – I’ll try to troubleshoot with you. You might already be in and you just need to pick a bracket when the time window opens for picking for next weeks’ tournaments. Once you pick a bracket, you can join any group – there’s 6 in my Jalep_Wildguess group and I only see five names…wonder if that’s you?

jalep Says:

lakie — are you in the that draw challenge somewhere? I have two groups (by accident) you are welcome to join – would love to have you. (group name under Jalep wildguess or ratcliffhangers….then there’s the big anonymous groups if you like more competition like Moo’s tennis blog group.

Here’s for Margot — Adam Pavlasek and Petra Kvitova. He was Petra’s junior boyfriend back in 2012, I think it was :D

jalep Says:

Margot, Adam Pavlasek has sure grown up since the last time I was looking him up, (years ago with pimples and braces as a junior dating Petra K.), remember?

J.S. Says:

WOOOHOOO RAFA!!!! Nice start to the New Year…so happy they have Live TV here of my baby, Nadal! I am the crazy person sitting in the bar yelling for my MAN – YAY YAY YAY
Glad “football” which is actually “soccer” isn’t playing at the same time, or I would be screwed!

Are you excited…..Rafa fans?? And, nice job NIKE on the fab outfits!

jalep Says:

Actually there are SIX members in my group but I only see Four names. Two people that joined are not showing up — and probably won’t show up until they SUBMIT a bracket for a tournament — there’s both ATP and WTA ….pick whichever brackets you want. And I don’t see an email address for tennisdrawchallenge.com

Margot Says:

Jalep: I don’t remember him at all! Spots or no, lol.
