Roger Federer Was In Prague Monday To Promote The Laver Cup
Roger Federer made a public appearance in Prague yesterday to promote the new Laver Cup, which is run by his management company.
The event, to be held September 22-24, pits Europe against the world in a team tennis format. Prague is the inaugural host city of what will be an annual event. Tickets go on sale on Friday.
“Can’t wait for September,” Federer told the crowd.
Federer said Berdych and Rafael Nadal will also be on the 6-man European squad.
“The Laver Cup is the most exciting new tournament we’ve seen in tennis for a very long time,” Federer said.
“I’m super excited about teaming up with some of my greatest rivals, like Rafa and Tomas. We’ve never had the chance to really sit on the sidelines and cheer each other on, and play doubles together, rather than facing each other on opposite sides of the net.”
As part of the promotion, Federer and Berdych play some mini-tennis on a boat!
