Following his opening round win Tuesday in Halle, Roger Federer collected his 1,100th career ATP victory. The Swiss is one of just three players to ever cross the 1,000 win mark, and only behind Jimmy Connors’s 1,256.

“I’m very excited about it,” Federer said of the mark. “I didn’t know about it to be honest, I forgot about it because they mentioned something to me in Stuttgart before that I could reach it. Then, I completely forgot.

“I think I appreciate these numbers way more today than ever before, I think I can embrace them more. And, it’s a big number. So, I’m very happy still having a chance to add hopefully some more wins to that number.”

156 wins behind Connors, if Federer were to play three more full seasons he could possibly catch the American.
