Van Persie Says:

Really hope, Djoko will not be in a hurry. He might better wait until he is fully recovered. I think he will be more relevant in the second half of this season. We’ll see.

Wog Boy Says:

VP,
Apparently Nole confirmed playing Tie Break Tens on 10th of January in Melbourne, it’s Nole vs Rafa, Stan vs Nick.

Van Persie Says:

WB,

Yes, I did a news about that, it’s very likely he will test there the “status of the injury”. Perhaps Rafa and Stan are doing the same..Nick wants to check, if he can hold his nerve for one set, lol
I know, you have most likely already tickets for Melbourne :)
Before the retirements from Mubadala and Doha, I hoped he would have a better start in the new season, now I have many doubts

Van Persie Says:

^^ did read a news about, not did a news….

Wog Boy Says:

So am I (having doubts), agree about him testing his elbow, he’ll have five days after to decide if he is going to play AO or not and yes, I am going to Melbourne.

Wog Boy Says:

^^ He looks even thinner then before:(

j-kath Says:

VP + Wogboy: Sorri to put an “Andy” comment on Nole’s link —but there is no Andy feature. These two guys (Nole+Andy) – born approx. 2 weeks of each other ….are both “handicapped at the same time…..when they should both be on a come-back swing. Appreciate Rafa not too healthy also + Stan, Kei, Raonic with problems as well.

Is there any tennis worthwhile watching? The rise of the younger players isn’t happening either…..no consistency! I think Roger is going to win 4 Grand Slams this year – all without a droplet of sweat.

t4t Says:

Andy is considering hip surgery it seems. Why doesn’t he get it done at Switzerland? He could keep winning into late old age.

Van Persie Says:

Well J-K, Looks like Andy is also struggling with the injuries at the moment, like Nole and many others. New Year, but same old injuries…

Willow Says:

Agree J-Kath what a Horrible start to the tennis year Andy, Novak, Rafa, Stan all carrying niggles still, and Federer looks as fresh as a daisy, and with nobody new on the horizon advantage Federer ….

Wog Boy Says:

JK,
No need to be sorry, fair comment.
I am now like a poker player who is slowly opening his cards to see if he’s got winning combination doing the same, slowly scrolling news every day to see if Nole is going to say “6 months extensive therapy hasn’t work so operation is only option”… and that would spell the end of one great career.
I have to say, though he doesn’t look healthy to me for well known reason he sounds determined to have another crack, it happened that I called my mother and siblings few minutes before midnight for NYE to wish them happy and healthy New Year and Serbian Television had Nole excatly at midnight to wish Serbian people Happy New Year (usually it is President or Premier, but they chose Nole).
I asked my sister to put the volume up and to stop talking (God, she can talk:) so I could hear Nole, it was really good speach and he sounded happy and determined to have another crack in tennis, so we’ll see, time will tell for both of them, good mates Nole and Andy who do everything together, even injuries.
