Juan Martin del Potro To Undergo Knee Surgery

After slipping and falling yesterday during his win over Denis Shapovalov at Queen’s, Juan Martin del Potro has announced that he will undergo surgery on his right knee.

That’s the same right knee he fractured last last year in Shanghai, and effectively ends any hope for Wimbledon and potentially the summer swing.


The 30-year-old del Potro made the quarterfinals at Wimbledon and the final last year at the US Open. He has played just five events this year.

Not much of surprised to me. I said here last year that this seemed worse than initially published (I have my informants).

Delpo didn’mwant to pass another surgery. He tries with a conesrvative treatment. Didn’t work, as his sorroundings feared.

Whatever happens (I think he’s not coming back. I sustain this position. Too many blows)it’s a testament how stron mentally he was.

One day we’ll aknowledge he returnes to top 10 with one 100% fit hand and mantained a decent level without a proper knee.

It’s tennis lose. That’s all I have to say.
