Madrid Davis Cup Field Set; USA, Croatia, Italy Qualify, Argentina Eliminated

The field has been set for the year-end Davis Cup finals week in Madrid on November 23. A total of 18 teams will be in competition including 12 who qualified this weekend.

Team USA advanced over Uzbekistan 4-0 as the Bryan brothers played their final tie before they intend to retire at the US Open.

Fabio Fognini led Italy over South Korea 4-0 and Jiri Vesely won two matches to put the Czech Republic past Slovakia 3-1.

2016 champion Argentina lost to Colombia and a star-less Swiss team fell on the road in the playoff round to Peru.

Awaiting the 12 winners in Madrid will be top seeds Spain and Canada plus Great Britain, Russia, France and Serbia.
