Monfils, Cilic, Khachanov Headline ATP Adelaide 1

After a year off due to COVID, the men’s event in Adelaide returns with a solid field featuring six players in the Top 50 in it’s first week.
Gael Monfils will be the top seed, followed by Karen Khachanov, Marin Cilic and Frances Tiafoe.
Monfils could face Italian teen Lorenzo Musetti or Stockholm champ Tommy Paul in the quarters, then Tiafoe in the semifinals.
Cilic has a good road out to the semifinals while Khachanov might have to navigate through Steve Johnson and Marton Fucsovics.
Oft-injured Thanasi Kokkinakis returns to meet John Millman in an all-Australian opener.
The event was first held in the new arena in 2020 with Andrey Rublev defeating Lloyd Harris.
Next week, another tournament will take place in Adelaide with John Isner and Harris also participating.
