After a tight after last week at the Canadian Masters for Iga Swiatek in her win over Danielle Collins, today at the Cincinnati Masters the world No. 1 had now problems hammering the American 6-1, 6-0 in her opener.

Swiatek lost just six points on first serve winning the last nine games of the match from 3-1 up in the first.

“It was a really solid match and I felt I’m not doing a lot of mistakes,” Swiatek said to the WTA. “I’m happy I didn’t give anything for free.

“I could be proactive and not really overanalyze everything, just go for it. I’m happy that I did that.”

Swiatek will now take on Chinese 20-year-old Qinwen Zheng. Amid a flurry of errors and double faults, Zheng found herself down 6-1, 2-0 to the 43-year-old Venus Williams before rallying 1-6, 6-2, 6-2, taking 12 of the last 14 games.
