Stan Wawrinka: “I Don’t Believe In A Clean Sport Anymore”

With the final decision out on Jannik Sinner who was suspended three months, players are already taking to social media to make their voices known.

Three-time champion Stan Wawrinka was straight-to-the-point in a tweet this morning: I don’t believe in a clean sport anymore …

Wawrinka is likely referring to the inconsistences on how doping cases have been adjudicated of late. Some players get multi-year bans, some a few months and in Sinner’s case before today it was zero months.

Further, players can now “settle” with WADA on their suspension length. In Sinner’s case, his three months falls conveniently between the Australian Open and Rome, so for him it was a best case scenario to a degree.

British player Liam Broady offered this: “Didn’t realise you could reach a settlement regarding a doping ban… Interesting. Back in time for French Open I guess? 👀”

PK Says:

Of course, doping infractions by women players are punished much more severely by WADA. What a surprise.

I’m still around, WB. I don’t know if Sean is on hiatus or wrapping this site up.
It’s worth selling as a tennis site, IMO if he isn’t interested anymore.

BTW, RFK Jr. meets Djokovic in Miami. Sharing things in common like nutrition science, vaccination theories and a love for tennis – RFK Jr. said nice things about Novak:

I like RFK because he was a deeply flawed young man that never quit on himself and extricated himself from the trap of being just another Kennedy celeb trotted out at Dem Party fundraisers when not doing drugs or other wild stuff to became an accomplished man on his own.
RFK Jr is an inspirational, great American story.

CF1, thanks for replying and for the link, nice words by RFK to Nole.

I didn’t know much about RFK until few years back, until I found out about his life and struggles and I respect him even more after I saw nasty and vile attacks on him few months ago by his first cousin, former US ambassador to Australia, woman that looks like a mummy, Caroline Kennedy. If you haven’t see it just google it.
