A day after her fourth career US Open title, Serena Williams made the media rounds in New York on Monday. With summer wins at Wimbledon and the Olympic gold in addition to her 15th Grand Slam crown Sunday, Serena had plenty to talk about.
Serena visited CBS This Morning where she discussed Victoria Azarenka’s grunting among other topics.
“Usually I do hear her grunting,” Serena said. “In this particiular match, I didn’t hear anything. During the match, I was thinking ‘She’s pretty low today.'”
On the topic of the match, Serena told the hosts that she was just too confident in the third.
“I was so confident, I was almost over confident. In the third set I was down, I thought ‘Good lord, what am I doing out here?’ I thought, ‘Man, say something really nice [in my runners-up speech],'” Serena said.
Later, she visited the Jimmy Fallon Show for some fun and karaoke and she also was a guest on the Kelly and Michael Show.
