Opening Act
So it’s done. I’m actually blogging.
The kind folks at Tennis-X has asked for my help in running a blog for their site. Being the kind person I am, I agreed. Of course, I really don’t even know what a blog is or what the frenzy is about.
After doing a quick search, blog is short for web log, which i also don’t know what is. If that’s not enough, I have no idea what a “trackback” is, or “URI”, or “permalink”, or “rss” or that “xfn” thing that appears on side column to your viewing right.
Heck, I don’t even know how to write or what this “wordpress” thing I’m writing this in really is…
But I do know a bit about tennis and I will be writing my tennis thoughts on this blog on and off for the near future, or at least until the folks at Tennis-X pull the plug after I rip them – which I am told I can do!!
In case you’re wondering, I do have quite a background in the sport. Having grown up in the tennis-mecca state of Michigan, I domintated juniors losing all three of my USTA boys 14 matches many years ago. If that doesn’t warrant my credentials, I still continue to play and I still watch the game when it’s on. I even read an occasional magazine and try to keep up with the info on the net.
So if that doesn’t make me an expert…Well…You guys can be the judge.
So there ya have it, my first blog post. Time to hit the “publish” button and see what happens.
Sean
p.s. Darn no spell checks. Also, i have been informed that if you leave comments that will have to be approved before they are posted. Not sure what all that means, they are not my words.
