Agassi Cleared…for More Exos: Tennis-X Notes
BOOK CLOSED ON METH HEAD AGASSI — International Tennis Federation (ITF) president Francesco Ricci Bitti told The Associated Press on Wednesday that despite appeals from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the statute of limitations on Andre Agassi’s admitted drug use in his book “Open” has made the incident non-punishable. Agassi admitted in his book he did crystal meth for the better part of a year. The ITF said that WADA appealed to the ATP for information they had on Agassi’s doping tests or other info but the ATP would not cooperate. “The ATP is the only entity that could have shed light on what happened, but it’s too late,” Ricci Bitti said. “WADA asked information from the ATP without much success.”
