Still recovering from foot surgery, WTA No. 1 Serena Williams withdrew from tournaments in Tokyo and Beijing.

In a statement, Serena said: “While I have continued to make progress in the recovery of my foot injury, unfortunately I am still not ready to compete at the upcoming Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo and China Open in Beijing. These are both fantastic events with loyal fans that I hope to be able to compete in next season. In the meantime, I am focused on my rehab program and remain optimistic to return to competition this season.”

Serena’s also been focused on another program: selling her Serena Signature Statement line on the Home Shopping Network.

The boot-less Serena (she wore a boot in her summer appearance), appeared on HSN this past Monday serving up her goodies.

“I am pretty dedicated to my Signature Collection and nothing; nothing can keep me from appearing on HSN,” Serena said.

I admit, it’s a little unsettling to see a tennis great hawking her wares on TV! But she’s seems to be good at.

Reads a promo on HSN: “The champ goes vamp as Serena Williams aces elegance and adaptability with her winning line of jewelry and accessories”.

Here’s a sample from Monday:
