Novak Djokovic Is OK After Scary Autograph Mishap [Video]
Novak Djokovic says he’s OK after a freak accident during a routine autograph signing earlier today at the Hopman Cup in Perth. Djokovic was in the middle of signing autographs after a win over Andreas Seppi when the restraining wall holding the fans back gave out.
The wall and the fans crashed into the World No. 1 leaving him in some visible distress. Fortunately the fans and Novak were unharmed.
“It was a bit of a shock and I am glad that the children involved are OK. I am fine,” Djokovic told PerthNow.
Novak had only arrived in the Perth 24 hours earlier following his win at the Abu Dhabi exhibition.
“I arrived quite late last night and didn’t get a lot of sleep,” Djokovic said. “I felt like I was dream walking this morning.
“But as the match went on, I was managing to get my rhythm.”
What a strange way to start the New Year.
