Novak Djokovic wasn’t on hand during Serbia’s loss this weekend to Roger Federer’s Switzerland team in Davis Cup. But the World No. 2 was still helping his country in other, more important ways.

After a snow storm left travelers in northern Serbia stranded for hours in their vehicles, Djokovic came to the rescue offering food and water to the distressed.

Djokovic is scheduled to return to tennis in Dubai later this month on February 24.

Hmmm must be a slow time in tennis ATM,but good on Novak for helping people that are in distress, stranded in a snow storm must be scary stuff.

kriket Says:

He should have better went a few kilometers further to Novi Sad and help his teammates against Federer and Wawrinka.

kriket Says:

I mean that’s his job and we have rescue services in Serbia which do the rescuing and helping the stranded people job.
Novak’s help wasn’t essential there but would have been welcome in Davis Cup match against Switzerland, although we would’ve probably lost even if he was playing cos he can’t defeat the Swiss by himself.

vamos rafa Says:

well!!am, good for novak its a good thing that he did by helping people who were in distress but his help was not essential. But this thing is very appreciable.

courbon Says:

@ kriket: I got your point, but without Troicki and Tipsarevic Novak would not saved Serbia. And Zimonjic is finishing as a player. So what would be a point playing? I’m quite happy Novak skipping Davis Cup this year and concentrating on his solo stuff..
