In a promotion for the Barcelona event this week, Spanish stars Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer hit some tennis balls at the famed Gran Teatre del Liceu opera house Monday night.

“Obviously I’m very happy I was able to play at the Liceu, it’s one of the most emblematic places in Barcelona,” said Nadal. “I really love music and I have a grandfather who was an orchestra conductor. I had already been here before but it had been a while since the last time I came. This is one of those pictures I will keep forever.”

Nadal will open his bid for a ninth Barcelona title on Wednesday. He’s won 39 straight matches at the event.
