Good news! According to Uncle Toni, Rafael Nadal is on track for a return next month on July 25th at the Toronto Masters.

“Rafa is doing well,” Uncle Toni said. “The Federation doctor has said that everything is progressing as it should, in the time frame we expected. Now he has to start strengthening his wrist and his arm a little bit, and in two weeks we will start training step by step, working a little bit harder each day. The doctor said everything is on the right track.”

“The plan is to play Toronto if everything goes well.”

After Toronto, Nadal will be part of Spain’s Rio Olympic tennis team. And he’s entered in singles, doubles and mixed.

Nadal withdrew from the French and then pulled out of Wimbledon.

Annie Says:

Great news for all Rafa fans! Especially those of us living in Toronto that are looking forward to seeing him at this year’s tourney…he wasn’t able to play last time the men were here 2 years ago. It’s early this year due to Olympics, so hope he’s ready.

ABerg Says:

Rogers Cup is probably good place to start, assuming he is healthy. Big dogs are eyeing USO and just starting with weights after the break, and puppies coming from euro-clay.

Annie Nadal Says:

In about 5 weeks as long as everything plays out like they hope…we shall see our Spanish Gladiator back on court in Rogers Cup!!!
Can’t wait : ) but the idea of following that up w/
Rio Singles, Dbls AND mixed Dbls sounds a bit much for me. I luv RAFAEL as much as any other fan does…as in “I’m his biggest fan” & I think that is the same for all 15 million of us on FB BUT I can picture that not ending well. I don’t want to be reading half way thru Olympics he has to withdraw BC he has injured his wrist again!!! Especially w/US Open right around the corner. But as RAFAEL has said many times “we shall see”. Wishing U nothing but the best!
Luv U Babe!!!
