Danica Says:

Thank you Rafa for taking part for a good cause.

AndyMira Says:

@Dani..Rafa loves children..I think that’s the main reason why he wants anticipating in the first place, apart from Nole and him always have a good relationship..I love to see their connection..

Danica Says:

Me too. I love their mutual respect. In fact, I like to see players getting along well.

AndyMira Says:

I hope one day i’ll be able to see Andy invite this two greats[and add one swiss maestro in the mix] to play for his foundation in Scotland or UK..That’ll be huge..This three greats got a massive influence there..Combined with Andy’s popularity and reputation..Wow!It’s going to be awesome..

Humble Rafa Says:

Anything for a good cause. Humble is always available for these events.

Willow Says:

Yeah all Very nice , but Looking forward to getting back to the real tennis, people donate to charities all the time, yet they dont make a big deal about it, yet celebrities seem to want to do the opposite, how about all the mere mortals raising money for Macmillan and the worlds biggest coffee morning this coming Friday ….

Van Persie Says:

Willow, there is real tennis these days: in Sankt Petersburg, Metz, Tokyo, Guangzhou, etc. We have also threads about that on Tennis X. You could comment there, if Novak’s charity event pisses you of

Willow Says:

The context of my post is lost on you Van Persie, as i didnt say it pisses me off, you missed my point ….

Willow Says:

And BTW These were lovely scenes of Nole and team at the gala dinner singing, Rafa and Nole playing tennis and getting the kids and friends involved, and the impressions were hilarious, i just cant get my head around why celebrities want to recieve so much adulation because they give to charity, its not about Novak or Rafa but celebrities as a whole, and ive had Colin, Margot and a poster called Grendel whom used to post here many moons ago, so it aint just me, i do wish posters would try not to make things so selective, so see it as others taking a pop at their favorites, its called context ….

Wog Boy Says:

You really can’t help yourself to show your real yourself, VP called you rightfully on it, full stop.

Wog Boy Says:

BTW Willow, who is currently the best player in the world, and how do you make cut for “currently”?

Willow Says:

Wogoy who said currently? i never made this about Novak she did? Novak is the best player on tour no currently about it, probably the best ever IMO, i just dont care for celebrities and charities, so what do i have to, now your the one making it personal, why does anyone have to be called out, its a difference of opinion is all ? ….

Willow Says:

Wogboy we used to get on so well, you used to respect peoples opinions even when you didnt always agree with them, as i say IMO Novak will no doubt go on to be the best ever, but god forbid anyone here should have the audacity to disagree with something, you only need to go over old threads to see all the nice things ive said about Novak over the years, as for showing my real self i always have ….

Willow Says:

Silly me i thought we were all entitled to an opinion, i guess not, except for some that are entitled to say whatever they like ? ….

Wog Boy Says:

Willow, you said not long ago that Andy Murray is “currently” the best player in the world, SG1 followed and confirmed, so all I am asking is how do you make the cut for “currently” since all ATP rankings (three of them) were pointing at only one player being the best in the world?

Giles Says:

AM. Thanks for link. Lol

Willow Says:

Wogboy admitedly i forgot that sorry, anyhow it was relevant at the time as Andy had gone unbeaten on grass and won an Olympic gold, and yes Novak is without doubt the best player this year, IMO its only a matter of time before he goes on to be the best ever if he aint already anyway, i just dont see what any of that has to do with what im talking about, your getting worked up about something that was said months ago, Novak just made another GS final, and Andy lost to Kei its a no brainer ….

AndyMira Says:

That’s alright Willow..i believe you..to me,you just voiced your opinion..a very brave opinion..even not a popular one..but,that’s you..a very brave women..i’ve said it before, and i’m going to say it once again..i admire your guts very much..

Willow Says:

Thanks AndyMira i certainly dont win many popularity contests anymore lol ….

elina Says:

Currently in this context is obviously post French to suggest Murray in that context with the most points earned since plus Olympic gold.

A valid position to take. No big deal.

elina Says:

And was particularly valid post French before the USO when said comment was made. Cheers Hippy.

Van Persie Says:

Past Toronto we had Cilic as the best player of the year and after Cincy Stan is Nr.1. Looks like he will win St. Petersburg.

Wog Boy Says:

But if Zverev wins it then he is “currently” best player in the world, no?

As long as we can find the reason that Nole isn’t;)

Wog Boy Says:

Because if Zverev wins it he will (most likely) have to beat “currently” the best player in the world, which is Stan, that is “legitimate” way to become best player in the world, I wander how ATP hasn’t worked that out before in their ranking system?

Van Persie Says:

Winners from Metz and St. Petersburg will share Nr. 1 post US Open, WB :D

Wog Boy Says:

^^^ .. and then we have Bejing, Shanghai and probably new best player in the world, so by the end of the year we are looking at at least half a dozen best players in the world…just for one year..So many best players in the world..wow, just wow!

elina Says:

VP and WB, yes! In those very specific and short term contexts why not!

Bravo to you both!

Van Persie Says:

WB, then we can proclaime Nole “King of Clay” starting with 2016 ;)

Wog Boy Says:

Yes VP, long live the King:)

Willow Says:

Novak i said Wogboy is the best player of the whole year, rinse and repeat, i dont know why your getting your knickers in a twist about it, its only you whos saying only if we can find a reason Nole isnt, your looking for holes in an argument when there is none ….

elina Says:

Why Willow? Don’t you know some actively seek reasons to be indignant on the internet as a pastime?

I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s funny!

Wog Boy Says:

Willow, actually I am not getting my knickers in a twist, I am having a fun.. besides, I am not wearing knickers when I go to bed and that’s where I’m right now..but I do wear my pyjama..

elina Says:

Willow just think of the respect you have that your opinion seems to matter to so many so much!

Although they won’t like to admit it, their actions speak louder!

Wog Boy Says:

So it is Wawrinka against Zverev in the final, pity I won’t be able to watch it, should be good match, possible new best player in the world, I am going whale watching, it’s that part of season, they finished their birth voyage to warm waters and now coming back alongside east coast, sailing south with their newborn babies, majestic to see those beautiful creatures.

elina Says:

Perhaps for just a few minutes today WB you could be the best whale watcher in the world!!! Good luck!!!

Wog Boy Says:

I’ll do my best elina, but it’ll be tough ask, too many spotters..

AndyMira Says:

@Willow 8:52am…Who says you’re not popular? You’re so damn popular women! You’re sit on the same row with all the famous Queens here like JK,Margot,VP,Jane,Dani,Okie,Jalep, madmax and many more..Everytime you go away and when you came back, everybody embraced you with warmth and loving words..That’s not popular? He he..i’ll say..chill sis!

AndyMira Says:

@Giles..He he he..You’re welcome!Btw..why your post always came late?I got it 4 hours after you posted it..The content was just an innocent thank you..and LOL..??

Giles Says:

AM. Exactly, just an innocent post from me and yet the moderators are hard at work moderating me. Oh well! 🤒🙄

J-Kath Says:

Willow

I don’t allow anyone to put Willow down and that means YOU too.

Willow Says:

Cheers J-Kath, Elina, AndyMira means alot ;-)) ….

Giles Says:

“I don’t allow……..”. Big words!

J-Kath Says:

I can root for you too Giles – all I need is a good reason.

J-Kath Says:

Re: Nole

Just watched the 2009 film “Knowing” starring Nicholas Cage. Struck me the fist to the heart and then the extension out as is used between father & son in the film is similar to what Nole does at the end of a match/tournament.

Giles Says:

JK. Not sure you’ll get one. You just carry on rooting for Ms Willow. She will appreciate it more. 😀

Willow Says:

J-Kath i know its a late reply, but i watched that film recently, and its scary to think whats going on in the world, and the ending is very emotional when all the family meet together and hug for the very last time ….

J-Kath Says:

Willow:
It is another universe. Will we ever have the answers? Do we want the answers?
