Federer, Murray Play Beach Tennis At Dubai And Of Course Roger Won [Video]

To commentate 25 years as a tournament on the ATP Tour, the Dubai event set up a beach tennis promo between it’s two top names, Roger Federer and Andy Murray. And Federer took the win!

“It was good fun today playing on the beach, I’ve never done that and the sun came out for us so that was a good start to the day,” said Murray. “I enjoy coming to Dubai. I’ve played here a number of years. I feel refreshed and looking forward to competing again.”

After the beach victory, Federer “improves” to 2-1 against Murray in Dubai. Roger won the 2012 final with Murray taking a 2008 first round win.

Both guys are playing their first event since the Australian Open which ended differently for each player. Federer won the title beating rival Rafael Nadal in a thrilling 5-set final while pre-tournament favorite Murray was stunned by Mischa Zverev.

Federer and Murray could meet in the semifinals. Federer opens against Benoit Paire while Murray meets Malek Jaziri.

Stan Wawrinka and Gael Monfils are projected in the other semifinal.
