Hibino had 18 unforced errors during the match, while Peng kept a tidy 13 unforced errors to eight winners. It was her second career title after the 2016 Tianjin Open.

The WTA was apparently unable to secure an interpreter, as no quotes from the winner or runner-up were made available after the final.

The 22-year-old Hibino dropped to 1-3 in career finals, also finishing runner-up at Kuala Lumpur this year. She was looking for her first title since 2015 Tashkent.

Chinese teenagers competing in their first WTA event won the doubles final when 18-year-old Jiang Xinyu and 16-year-old Tang Qianhui defeated Arina Rodionova and Alla Kudryavtseva 6-3, 6-2.
