After squandering match points in a tight loss to Diego Schwartzman in the Buenos Aires semifinals Saturday, Dominic Thiem heads back to Rio as the tournament’s top seed.

The Austrian won Rio in 2017 beating Pablo Carreno Busta. He’s joined in the six edition of the event by defending champion Diego Schwartzman, French Open semifinalist Marco Cecchinato and No. 2 seed Fabio Fognini.

Thiem opens against Laslo Djere while Fognini will face Canadian teen Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Thiem and Schwartzman are scheduled to play on Tuesday. Schwartzman meets fellow former champion Pablo Cuevas in his opener.

Projected quarterfinals: Thiem v Sousa, Cecchinato v Jarry, Jaziri v Schwartzman, Lajovic v Fognini.
