Jil Teichmann picked up the biggest win of her career stunning World No. 5 Kiki Bertens 7-6(3), 6-2 to win the Palermo clay title.

The 22-year-old Teichmann won her second title of the year after Prague, and it was also her first career Top 35 win. And she took the crown without dropping a set.

The Swiss will break the Top 60 after beginning the year outside of the Top 140!

The top-seeded Bertens was seeking her 10th career title, third of 2019. But she has now lost her last two finals.

Five of Bertens’s last six losses have come to players outside of the Top 40.
