The incident occurred Wednesday in Perth where Uruguay was facing Georgia in the ATP Cup. Nikolaz Basilashvili was leading Cuevas in the first when the umpire gave Cuevas a warning.
Moments later began to exit the court, but, upon urging from his opponent, Cuevas returned to take the second set but lose in three.
“For me it was an overreacting call from referee,” Basilashvili said. “I just told him it was a bad call from the referee and let’s continue playing.”
